JEvents Intrgatation

Hello,

I was talking with the Devloper of JEvents in regards to possibly integrating your sytem with his, I am noob and not very familiar with your component (but it looks awesome) and he asked me the following question...
"I took a quick look but from what I can see it doesn't link in to a content item directly - you create a review from a 'reviews' menu item. Is that correct?" I look at you getting started but only found "Reviews written in Simple Review are separate from Joomla articles." But cant you link to article s and content as well using your system? I figured would ask you guys for more details instead? If you familair with the Jevents Component do you think intergation would be possible for Events as well?

row1:
Hi,

Correct, Simple Review doesn't use Joomla content items. Simple Review can use Joomla content plugins, so if JEvents has a plugin you might be able to add something like {jevent:12} to your review and display information about an event.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info.  My goal is to have their events content rated and sorted by your review system, they have a"latest events"  module and i was trying to see if it could be modified to give a rated output based on simple events ratings. Any general  suggestions on how to go about that or would that even be feasible in your opinion?

row1:
You would need to use SR as your main content in order to rate it. For example create an event 'Event1' and then create a review 'Review for Event 1'. Your review would need to contain a placeholder for the JEvents plugin e.g. {jevent:Event1} so that the event information is displayed inside your review.

You could use SR custom fields to store the event ID and a custom SR template to automatically create {jevent:Event1}.

So if you had such a JEvents plugin then I think it is quite feasible and would work quite well.
