Thanks ps..yeah It must have happened after I updated as well.. I was having issues with another plugin and updated to Joomla 2.5 hoping that might help (didnt) ..that must have been when Simple Review went down

I suspect SR will be getting more complaints as everyone starts upgrading....sure he is aware of the issue now so guess we'll just have to have a little patience

Hopefully we can patch the software soon. This recent version of joomla seemed to come out very suddenly.

As a site owner you should already be aware that upgrading between major versions is not a trivial task and should never be done without research or on a whim. The transition from Joomla 1.0.x to 1.5.x took months for most developers and there are still quite a lot of extentions which never made the upgrade. These two versions were not an update or patch but a similar yet different piece of software. The same was true for the switch from Joomla 1.5.x to 1.6.x which again was different enough to break almost every existing extension. If your site is critical then these changes should be done on a test environment ahead of time.

Major version changes are like OS version (think Windows XP to Windows Vista) and NOT the same as minor updates / patches (think Windows Update). I only say this because I want to make it clear that Simple Review is only teted to work on those versions which are stated and can only be expected to work with those versions and those versions.x
The joomla team usually changes the major version number when they make a fundamental or large enough change in the way joomla works to break something not expecting it. You should expect this.

We will work on our part to be compatible but please understand our volunteer effort does the best we can. More info to come...
