Problem with dots in reviews' titles
« on: July 01, 2011, 10:25:37 AM »
I've upload a review of the game F.3.A.R. with the dots in alias name and I've experienced the following:
1)When I gave the link (http://www.gameworld.gr/reviews/2-GameWorld/911-F.3.A.R.) it didn't open due to the dots.
2)Even if I change the alias name from F.3.A.R. to F3AR this didn't work and the alias name remained the same in the "last reviews" section.

You need to work on this, so that we are able to use dots in names. If it's impossible due to the nature of Internet, you have to remove the dots somehow, so that only the http://www.gameworld.gr/reviews/2-GameWorld/911 is displayed.

Hello,

You should be able to use dots in the NAME but not in the ALIAS. However, as you stated we should detect this and fix it for you and we do not. The alias gets translated directly to URL and in URL's a dot signifies the end of a domain and the beginning of a domain extension (.com, .net, .gr, .ca etc).

Maybe we could substitute a dot for a hyphen (911-F-3-A-R).
